Once you’re managing more than a handful of products, “did we already register this one?” becomes a real question.
Spreadsheets don’t answer it well. A shared Excel file with dozens of tabs, or a folder full of “final_v3” versions, isn’t a system — it’s a guess. That’s what the dashboard is for.
Status at a glance
Every product shows where it stands: draft, validated, or uploaded. No digging through old files to check.
Versioning, not duplication
Update an existing product’s data and it creates a new version of the same record — it doesn’t spawn a second, slightly different entry that someone uploads by mistake.
A record of who changed what, and when
Useful day-to-day, essential when an auditor or notified body asks how a submission was prepared.
None of this replaces your judgment. It just means the answer to “what’s our current EUDAMED status” doesn’t live in someone’s memory or a random spreadsheet tab.
